PGP Corporation, known for its desktop and server encryption solutions has taken a big jump into the Saas arena, now offering disk encryption as a service.

The PGP encryption software is available for Windows and Mac computers and paid for on a monthly subscription basis. This move is aimed at small and medium businesses who want to have greater security but cannot allocate time and resources into establishing their own encryption services.

The product will also give the users flexibility to grow or shrink the subscription numbers as required.

Another big bonus with the PGP service is that they also have a key recovery and encryption reporting service.

Pricing, although not fully disclosed yet, is believed to be comparable to the current annual subscription for the PGP software, of $160 USD. Deployment of the technology will be managed through appointed partners.
